How It Began

Charles W. Strittmatter founded our company in 1978 and set it up to provide equipment rentals with operators. Our first customer was Shirley Contracting, who is still a customer today. In 1996, the company expanded its services to include excavation and demolition. The second generation of the Strittmatter family has been managing the operation of the company since 1998. Michael Strittmatter serves as President and John Strittmatter serves as Vice President. Strittmatter has grown substantially over the years with the brothers in charge; however, we still maintain the quality, integrity and superior customer service that our Father established as the guiding principles upon the Company’s inception.

Excellence

Strittmatter is a family-owned and operated business. For over 40 years, we have taken pride in the family name and upheld the reputation we have built from dedication and excellence in our work. Strittmatter handles jobs throughout the greater Washington D.C., Maryland, and Northern Virginia areas. We have developed diverse construction expertise including excavation, demolition, materials removal, and equipment rentals.

Safety

Safety is a top priority at Strittmatter. Our company is fully insured with significant bonding capacity. Our stellar safety record and low worker’s compensation MOD reflects our emphasis on safety throughout our company. We take a number of precautions to make sure that our team is prepared and well-educated on the subject of job-site safety. A full-time Safety team is in charge of OSHA compliance, as well as DOT regulations.
